Currently living in Grand Junction, Sandra Hoefner moved to Colorado after nineteen moves as a military spouse.  She holds a BFA in painting with a minor in ceramics from the University of Alaska, Anchorage, and an MFA in drawing, painting, and mixed media, which includes fiber and assemblage from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. She studied with Native Alaskan artist Alvin Amason in Fairbanks, Alaska, to make this graduate degree interdisciplinary with Northern Studies. While there she also studied oil painting with Kes Woodward and printmaking with Todd Sherman.
